More than 300 children with disabilities, orphans, and underprivileged children in Kurigram were filled with joy after receiving new clothes of their own choice ahead of Eid. The initiative was organized by BYO Development Foundation with support from Guardian Insurance Company Limited.
The half-day program was held on Friday in Subharkuti village under Holokhana Union of Kurigram Sadar upazila. As part of the event, the organizers set up a special “Guardian Eid Market,” where a wide variety of new clothes in different colors and sizes were displayed for the children.

The market was designed exclusively for the children, with parents not allowed inside so that the children could freely choose their preferred outfits. With the assistance of volunteers, they moved around the stalls, selecting clothes just like in a real market.
Many of the children expressed excitement as they tried on their chosen outfits and showed them to friends. Farida, the daughter of day laborer Badiyat from Hemerkuti village, said with a smile, “I looked at three or four dresses and chose a set of my favorite shirt and pants. I will wear this on Eid day.”
Organizers said the initiative aims to ensure that no child is left out of the joy of Eid. According to them, such efforts not only bring happiness to disadvantaged children but also promote inclusion, compassion, and a sense of equality within the community.
